Hi, everyone. If something is a little (or a lot) off over here at the moment, it's because I'd just gone done gotten my blog its own domain. I didn't study the steps I had to take afterward to get everything in shipshape order, so, yeah, I'm a little (or a lot) freaking out. And then my old URL (blogspot) was supposed to automatically redirect to my new one, but that doesn't seem to be happening, or maybe it is and I'm just too freaked out to realize what is going on. And then my husband tells me that I might be starting my ranking again from zero, which would totally suck. Plus, I have to update the gazillion blog-related accounts I have, so, yeah, basically I wouldn't know where to start. Is the moral of the story "look before you leap"? That would be so totally funny since the one I was learning right before that was to, you know... carpe diem? Except that maybe I prefaced it with "throw caution to the wind and just..." which in hindsight may not have been prudent. Seriously, if you know anything about this business, HiiiiyELP! I'd really appreciate any advice. If you have time to offer step-by-step instructions, go right ahead.
*more freaking out*

I understand the feeling. Only, unlike you I made just 2 posts when I decided I should get my own domain first. I started with updating my feed URL first so my subscribers (if there are any, lol) won't get lost.
Still, congratulations! Hooray to our shorter domains! :D

Thanks for the tip :)
Congratulations on your own domain! I'd love to help, but i'm not sure if I would know what you need. Why don't you send me your questions? Kaya lang i didn't upgrade from within Blogger so I really might not be good help but it probably won't hurt to try?
Good luck though!
Thanks, Vera. I'm gonna let it ride for a few days and if I'm still stumped, I'll email you. :)
congratulations on your new domain. they said you really are going to start from zero in PR coz it's a different site URL.
i think you have to update your friends of this new development too in order for them to update their blog list. in that way, they can find you whether or not blogger redirects them to the new site.
Thanks, Twitterer :)
Hey you took the leap...congrats! Now I'd like to see updates from you so I'd know what to do when my time comes lol. Anyway, everything will be ok after everything subsides, including your emotions =)
I think the redirect is working because I arrived on your new URL from clicking on an older link. Absolutely make sure your feed is updated, as Cheeeryl says.
@Papa: Thanks. I'll update as much as what my tech spazz self can recognize. And yes, I'm feeling much calmer now, lol.
@Emm: Thanks for letting me know :)
I've been considering moving two of my Blogger blogs to their own domain, but I'm a bit worried about losing all the incoming links, ranks, etc I've built up over the last two years :-(
Congratulations on the new domain :-)
@John: Thanks. So far whatever unfortunate repercussions my impulsive leap may have, they haven't made themselves felt yet.
Hi there...
Hopped here from PinayMomBlogs' blog [Lena?]. I tend to click on a link that has a WAHM on it so here I am.
Congrats on the new domain. Unfortunately, your husband may be right about the ranking....you will lose whatever PR the old URL has...not right away but in a few, maybe days or a week. I took the leap some 2 yrs ago I think. My old URL still has the PR but my domain...nada.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll gain it back. Just keep on posting.
Nice to be here.

Hi, PinayWAHM. That's what everybody tells me. I guess I'm just shrugging my shoulders and saying c'est la vie. Too bad, but what's done is done.:)
