Blessings from Sunday, Part 4

Marguerite actually had a little accident on Sunday afternoon. She was jumping on the bed, being totally hyper when she fell over and bumped a part of her head on my sister's elbow. My sister (who's already suffering from all sorts of aches) howled in pain, saying that Marguerite had hit her funny bone. I was naturally more concerned about Chip because she was the one who reacted (besides the fact that she was already sick as it was). Marguerite had simply slumped on the bed, burrowing her face in the pillows. When she raised her head, we finally saw that she had actually hit her eye and a dark bruise was already forming on her eyelid. She didn't cry at all (my sister did, but because she felt bad about her niece's black eye), but she did allow me to cuddle her for a few minutes (after which she started getting hyper again). I ministered to the black eye as best as I could, but I knew it wasn't serious. I also know that there would be more to come and I'm actually okay with that. As long as they're nothing serious. It's all part of growing up, after all.

Too true.
